About Professor Tickles
Professor Tickles, aka Paul Silk, has been a professional chidrens entertainer for over 30 years. He has worked in a wide variety of settings throughout the UK and is held in high regard amongst fellow childrens performers and magicians.
His interest in magic started when he was given and magic set at the age of seven and he quickly developed a love of "slieght of hand" magic. As a teenager he started performing as a semi-professional magician learning his trade and being mentored by well known performers in his local area. A creative and fun loving entertianer Paul soon discovered that his particular forte was childrens magic.
"I just love the way the young children respond so honestly, openly and excitedly to the magic." - says Paul.
Paul had always incorporated puppets in his 'childrens act' and so his graduation to Punch and Judy seemed to be an inevitablility. Always seeking to improve his skills and wanting to learn from the best Paul (at that time Mr Tickles) approached the world famous Punch and Judy expert Bryan Clarke (Professor Jingles) to not only make his latest set of Punch and Judy charcters but to also advise on his act. In keeping with the spirit and traditions of Punch and Judy the master supported the student and so Mr Tickles became Professor Tickles.
Professor Tickles is an all round entertainer who has brought joy to children of all ages. As resident entertainer at Lands End Attraction since the summer of 2007 he can include on his performance c.v. shows for the stars of TV soaps Emmerdale and Eastenders; visitors for special events at the NEC (Birmingham) and the Royal Cornwall Show as well as large number of Primary Schools, Playgroups, Fetes and Fayres throughout the South West.
Professor Tickles has become a well know figure in is local area and has been sought out by parents who know they can trust him to deliver maximum laughter and entertainment for their children. Wedding Organisers seek out Professor Tickles to add value to the wedding packages they offer. Professor Tickles is well known to many of the best wedding venues in Conrwall (Tregenna Castle, Falmouth Beach Hotel, Carbis Bay Hotel to name a few).
As Paul Silk, he is a partner in Corporate Magical Solutions and brings his particular skills to trade events and promotions but freely admits that Childrens Entertainment is where his true passion lies. It is his unique ability to see things as a child would that allows him to create magic and wonder for the 3 - 7 year old age group.
In recent years play-parks like Playzone (Carbis Bay) have realised that Professor Tickles can bring additional fun to their guests so making him a highly sought after entertainer.
